Introduction

Futurized is a music record label that releases music in the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) scene which I work for. For every release (as Content Manager) I require to make a content package worth of using as promotion material prior to the release and on the release date.

Image Material

SoundCloud Song Background
This is the background image specifically for the background of the release on SoundCloud. SoundCloud allows you to place an image behind the frequencies of the song.

SoundCloud Profile Picture
SoundCloud does not allow .png images so if I want to make the header look seamless, I need to cut out the part where the profile picture is placed and make sure that it is perfectly aligned with the SoundCloud header that is placed.

This image is used as the header of the Futurized SoundCloud page upon release of said track.

YouTube Header
This image is used as the header of the Futurized YouTube page upon release of said track.

YouTube Thumbnail
This is the image made to show up in the search results of YouTube or in the next video section. Therefore it has the name of the artist(s) and the track name on it.

Video Material

Spotify Canvas
This is the video that is placed underneath the Spotify track. Sometimes we also use it as an early promoter for the song.

Pre-Release Video
This video is always used to announce the next upcoming release. Depending on how many releases (either every week or every two weeks), this video will be posted one week prior to the release date or the Monday before the release on Friday.

Release Video
This is the release video that will be posted on the social media platforms that or mostly mobile focussed. Think of YouTube Shorts, TikTok & Instagram.

This the only video that includes the entire song. It is placed on the YouTube channel of Futurized.

Preview Audio
This is the preview audio used to announce the track. It is placed under the pre-release video and not individually used.

Process

Programs Used

Ableton
I have used Ableton to make a preview version of the audio for the Pre-Release video. This is done by making a volume automation when the video starts so that it is not so sudden. Additionally I have use a reverb plugin to create a long reverb tail as the first quarter note of the chorus hits. This will create hype to listen to entire song once it comes out, and a good way to announce the track.
After Effects
I have used After Effects to create all the video material. I am using generated keyframes from the songs to automate visuals to it. On the keyframes I have added this piece of code "(smooth(0.2,16))" for fluid visuals.
Photoshop
I have used Photoshop to create all the image material. I am using the provided artwork from our artwork designer and put it in the right formats for the different social media platforms.

Other Contributors

Futurized
Futurized has provided the original artwork which my task is to process it into the respective content. Additionally, the audio is made by the respective artists but provided through Futurized as well.
